Every button, tool and panel in CLIP ROOM, explained. Use the search bar on the left to jump straight to a keyword, or click a category to browse. This page mirrors the exact labels and tooltips found in the app, organized by the panel or toolbar they belong to.
Project & Files
Creating, opening and browsing projects.
Project name / Video format / FPS
Set on project creation: project name, resolution (including portrait and 4K presets), and frame rate.
Create project
Creates the project folder structure and opens the new project.
Open…
Opens an existing project from a chosen folder.
Recent projects
Quick-open list of previously opened projects, synced with your account.
My Projects
From the account menu: browse and reopen any of your cloud-synced projects.
Save and Open / Don't save
When switching projects: choose whether to save the current project first.
Media Pool
The left panel that holds every media file, folder and virtual object in the project.
Import
Import +
Opens a file picker to import video, image, audio or 3D files into the Media Pool.
Drop zone
Drag and drop files here, or click to open the import file picker.
Search & Sort
Search media
Filters the media list live by file name.
Filter tabs
ALL / VIDEO / AUDIO / IMAGE / MESH / LIGHTS / HDRI / PRECOMP / CLIP IA / TEXT — filters the list to one media type.
Sort by Name / Date
Sorts the media list alphabetically or by import date; click again to reverse order.
View Modes
List view
Displays media as a compact single-line list.
Details view
Displays media with a thumbnail and metadata columns.
Grid view
Displays media as large thumbnail tiles.
Organize
Create new folder
Creates a new folder in the Media Pool to organize clips.
Delete selection
Deletes the selected media items or folders from the pool (and project).
Rename F2
Renames the selected media item or folder.
Timeline Toolbar
The row of editing tools above the timeline tracks.
Editing Tools
Selection V
Default tool: select, move and trim clips on the timeline.
Cutter C
Cursor turns into a blade: click anywhere on a clip to cut it at that exact point.
Cut
One-shot action: cuts the selected clip at the current playhead position.
Magnet S
Toggles snapping: clips and the playhead snap to nearby edit points while dragging.
Collision B
Toggles collision: prevents a dragged clip from overlapping another clip on the same track.
Link (audio/video)
Toggles linked selection: moving a linked video clip also moves its attached audio clip, and vice versa.
Delete
Switches to a click-to-delete cursor for clips on the timeline.
Tracks
Add Video Track Ctrl+Shift+V
Adds a new video track above the existing ones.
Add Audio Track Ctrl+Shift+A
Adds a new audio track below the existing ones.
Clip Visibility
Hide/Show selected clip
Toggles visibility of the currently selected clip without removing it.
Mute/Unmute selected clip
Toggles audio for the currently selected clip.
Zoom
Zoom out / in / slider
Adjusts the horizontal zoom level of the timeline. Alt+Wheel does the same with the mouse.
Fit timeline
Zooms the timeline to fit the whole project duration in view.
Timeline & Tracks
Per-track controls and the in/out range on the timeline ruler.
Track Controls
Show/Hide animations
Expands a video track to reveal its keyframe/animation sub-row.
Hide track
Hides every clip on this track from the viewer and export.
Mute (track)
Mutes every clip's audio on this track.
Delete track
Removes the track and every clip placed on it.
In / Out Range
In / Out handles I O
Drag the handles on the ruler, or press I/O at the playhead, to set an export/preview range.
In/Out right-click menu
Restore range, extend to clips, set to full timeline duration, remove range, or jump the playhead to In/Out.
Playhead
Playhead
Marks the current time position; drag along the ruler or click to move it.
Timeline Curve Editor
Replaces the timeline body when active, for keyframe animation on any numeric parameter.
Add key
Adds a keyframe for the selected property at the current playhead position.
Delete key
Deletes the currently selected keyframe.
Fit view
Frames the curve graph to fit all existing keyframes.
Properties list
Lists every animatable property of the selected clip; click one to edit its curve.
Viewer & Playback
The preview canvas above the timeline, its transport controls and status chips.
Transport
Start
Jumps the playhead to the beginning of the timeline.
Step back one frame ←
Moves the playhead back exactly one frame.
Play / Pause Space
Starts or stops timeline playback.
Step forward one frame →
Moves the playhead forward exactly one frame.
End
Jumps the playhead to the end of the timeline.
Playback
Proxy toggle
On: plays the lightweight 720p proxy. Off: plays the decodable original or full-resolution file.
Viewer zoom
Click to cycle the viewer's zoom level (Fit / 100% / custom). Scroll wheel over the viewer zooms centered on the cursor.
Viewer Chips
Transform: OFF/ON
Enables the Transform gizmo (position, scale, rotation) on the selected clip in the viewer.
Crop: OFF/ON
Enables the Crop gizmo, and rotoscoping mask points when drawing a mask.
Snap: OFF/ON
Toggles gizmo snapping to guides and edges while transforming a clip.
Fullscreen Ctrl+F
Expands the viewer to fill the whole window.
3D Navigation
Move / Rotate / Scale (3D) W E R
Switches the 3D viewport gizmo mode when a 3D composition is active.
Lock navigation mode
Locks the current 3D navigation mode so scrolling/orbiting can't change it accidentally.
Navigation mode
Switches the 3D viewport camera between Camera, Perspective, or a fixed Orthographic view (front/back/left/right/top/bottom).
Live BG
Shows the parent composition's background live behind a nested 3D composition.
Refresh background
Refreshes the parent composition background snapshot used behind a nested 3D composition.
Hide background
Hides the parent composition background snapshot.
Lock 2D
Locks the viewer's 2D panning while working inside a 3D composition.
Gizmos G
Shows or hides 3D gizmos (cameras, lights and their targets) in the viewport.
Transform & Crop Gizmo
The interactive handles drawn directly over the selected clip in the viewer.
Corner handles
Drag to scale the clip proportionally from that corner.
Top/bottom edge handles
Drag to scale the clip's height only.
Left/right edge handles
Drag to scale the clip's width only.
Rotate handle
Drag to rotate the clip. Hold Shift to snap to 45° increments.
Crop edge handles (top/bottom/left/right)
Visible in Crop mode: drag an edge to crop the clip's frame on that side.
Clip Inspector — Video Properties
The default Inspector tab for a video clip: read-only info plus the core transform, crop and timing controls.
Infos
Source
The original file name of the media backing this clip, so you can trace it back in the Media Pool.
Framerate
The frame rate of the source file itself (which can differ from the project's FPS if it was shot at another rate).
Resolution
The native pixel width × height of the source file, before any project-level scaling.
Codec
The video/audio codec the source file is encoded with (e.g. H.264, ProRes) — useful to know before export or troubleshooting playback.
Type
The clip's media kind (video, image, composition, solid, transition…).
Track
Which timeline track (e.g. V1, V2) the clip currently sits on.
Start / End
The clip's position on the timeline, in timecode, from its first to its last displayed frame.
In (Source) / Out (Source)
Which portion of the original source file is used — the trim points inside the source media itself, not the timeline.
Media Duration
The total duration of the underlying source file, regardless of how much of it is actually used on the timeline.
Duration
How long the clip actually plays on the timeline (End − Start), accounting for any trims and speed changes.
Transform
Opacity
Blends the clip with whatever is on the tracks below it, from 0% (invisible) to 100% (fully opaque).
Pos X / Pos Y
Moves the clip horizontally/vertically in pixels, relative to the frame center. Matches dragging the Transform gizmo in the viewer.
Scale X / Scale Y
Resizes the clip horizontally/vertically as a percentage of its native size. 100% is unscaled.
Rotate
Rotates the clip in degrees around its center (or a custom pivot set via the gizmo).
Black Background (16:9)
Adds a solid black letterbox/pillarbox behind the clip when its aspect ratio doesn't match the project's 16:9 frame, instead of leaving it transparent.
Crop
Top
Crops the clip's frame from the top edge, as a percentage of its height. Matches dragging the top crop handle in the viewer.
Bottom
Crops the clip's frame from the bottom edge, as a percentage of its height.
Left
Crops the clip's frame from the left edge, as a percentage of its width.
Right
Crops the clip's frame from the right edge, as a percentage of its width.
Speed
Speed
Playback speed as a percentage: below 100% slows the clip down, above 100% speeds it up. Changes the clip's Duration accordingly.
Duration
The clip's resulting length after the speed change; editing this field instead solves for the speed percentage needed to fit that duration.
Reverse
Plays the clip's frames backward, from its last frame to its first.
Clip Inspector — Audio Properties
The Inspector's Properties tab for an audio clip: read-only info plus volume and timing controls.
Infos
Source
The original audio file name backing this clip.
Codec
The audio codec the source file is encoded with (e.g. AAC, WAV, MP3).
Type
The clip's media kind — audio, or an AI-generated music/speech track.
Track
Which timeline audio track (e.g. A1, A2) the clip currently sits on.
Start / End
The clip's position on the timeline, in timecode.
In (Source) / Out (Source)
Which portion of the original audio file is used — the trim points inside the source media itself.
Media Duration
The total duration of the underlying source audio file.
Duration
How long the clip actually plays on the timeline, accounting for trims and speed changes.
Volume
Volume
The clip's playback level as a percentage, from 0% (silent) up to 200% (boosted).
Pan
Balances the clip's audio between the left and right stereo channels, from -100 (full left) to +100 (full right).
Speed
Speed
Playback speed as a percentage; also changes the audio's pitch, like a tape sped up or slowed down.
Duration
The clip's resulting length after the speed change.
Reverse
Plays the audio backward, from its last sample to its first.
Clip Inspector — Text Properties
The Inspector's Properties tab for a text clip: read-only info, transform, and every text-specific control.
Infos
Type
Identifies the clip as a text element.
Track
Which timeline video track the text clip currently sits on.
Start / End / Duration
The text clip's position and length on the timeline, in timecode.
Transform
Opacity
Fades the whole text element in or out, from 0% (invisible) to 100%.
Pos X / Pos Y
Moves the text box horizontally/vertically in pixels, relative to the frame center.
Scale X / Scale Y
Resizes the text box horizontally/vertically as a percentage.
Rotate
Rotates the text box in degrees around its center.
Text Parameters
Text
The actual text content displayed by the clip.
Font
Picks the typeface: Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, Courier New, Impact, or any font loaded from your computer.
Load fonts from my computer
Lets the text clip use a font installed locally instead of the built-in web-safe list.
Style
Normal, Bold, Italic, or Bold Italic.
Size
The font size in pixels.
Leading
The vertical spacing between lines of text.
Kerning
Fine adjustment of spacing between specific letter pairs.
Tracking
Uniform spacing added between every character.
Color
The fill color of the text.
Stroke Color / Stroke Width
Adds an outline around each letter, with its own color and thickness in pixels.
Text alignment (Left/Center/Right/Justify)
Sets the horizontal alignment of the text within its own box.
Justify L/C/R
When Justify is active, controls how the last (shorter) line aligns: left, center, or right.
Align box left/center/right
Anchors the whole text box to the left, center or right of the frame.
Align box top/middle/bottom
Anchors the whole text box to the top, middle or bottom of the frame.
Clip Inspector — Effects & Color
The Effects tab, split into stackable Filters and Color Adjustments.
+ ADD FILTER
Adds one of the filters below, stacked on the selected clip.
Blur
Softens the image with a gaussian-style blur.
Sharpen
Increases perceived edge detail/contrast.
Glow
Adds a soft bloom around bright areas of the image.
Chroma
Chroma key: removes a selected color (e.g. green screen) from the clip.
Motion Blur
Adds directional blur based on the clip's on-screen motion.
+ ADD ADJUSTMENT
Adds one of the color adjustments below, stacked on the selected clip.
Saturation
Increases or decreases color intensity.
Hue
Rotates the color wheel across the whole image.
Curves
Opens a per-channel tone curve for precise color grading (see Curve Editor).
Exposure
Brightens or darkens the image, simulating camera exposure.
Contrast
Increases or decreases the gap between shadows and highlights.
Temperature
Shifts the image toward warmer (orange) or cooler (blue) tones.
Negative
Inverts the image's colors.
Clip Inspector — Mask
Rotoscoping toolbar and mask list, shown over the viewer when the Mask tab is active for a clip.
Roto Tools
Edit Path
Default tool: select and drag existing mask points and their bezier handles to reshape the mask.
Create Roto (Pen)
Click on the viewer to place points one by one and draw a brand-new mask shape; click the first point again (or use Close) to finish it.
Add a point
Click anywhere on an existing mask outline to insert a new point at that spot.
Remove a point
Click an existing mask point to delete it from the shape.
Create Rectangle
Draws a new rectangular mask by dragging on the viewer.
Create Ellipse
Draws a new elliptical mask by dragging on the viewer.
Close
Closes the mask currently being drawn with the Pen tool (needs at least 3 points), then switches back to Edit Path.
Point Editing
Smooth point Z
Rounds the selected mask point into a smooth bezier curve.
Hard corner Shift+Z
Turns the selected mask point into a sharp corner with no curve handles.
Mask List
Enable/Disable
Checkbox: turns the mask's effect on or off without deleting it.
Show/Hide the path UI
Toggles whether this mask's points and handles are drawn over the viewer, to reduce clutter when several masks overlap.
Mask mode — ADD / SUB / INT
How this mask combines with the ones above it: Add (union), Subtract (cuts a hole), or Intersect (keeps only the overlap).
Invert
Swaps what's inside and outside the mask shape.
Move up / down
Reorders the mask in the stack, changing how it combines with the masks above/below it.
Delete
Removes the mask entirely.
Mask Parameters
Roto Color
The color used to draw this mask's outline and fill in the viewer overlay (for your own visual reference only — it doesn't affect the render).
Fill opacity (alpha)
How visible the mask's colored fill overlay is on screen while you're editing it.
Mask Path (animate)
Keyframes the mask's point positions over time, so the shape can follow a moving subject frame by frame.
Feather
Softens the mask's edge over a distance in pixels, blending it gradually instead of a hard cutoff.
Opacity
The strength of the mask's effect, from 0% (no effect) to 100% (full effect).
Motion Blur (180°)
Blurs the mask's edge along the direction of its motion between frames, matching a 180° shutter look.
Clip Inspector — AI Tools
The AI tab adapts to the selected clip's type, offering seven accordions: Generation, AI Editing, Remove Background, 3D Generation, Music, Speech, and the generation Library.
Generation
Generation (accordion)
Generates brand-new image or video content from a text prompt, for an empty AI clip.
IMAGES / VIDEOS tabs
Switches between image models (NanoBanana Pro/2, Seedream 4.5, GPT Image 2, Grok Imagine) and video models (Kling 3.0, Kling 3.0 Omni).
Prompt
Free-text description of what to generate. Type # or @ to mention a reference slot (e.g. #SF, #Image1) or an AI Element directly inside the text.
Reference slots
Images: 4 generic slots. Videos: 2 slots labeled SF/EF (Start Frame / End Frame) for Kling 3.0, or 6 slots (SF, EF + 4 generic) for Kling 3.0 Omni. Drag an image or click + to assign.
Models
Picks the generation model; the parameters below change automatically depending on which one is selected.
Size / Ratio
Image models: output resolution (2K/4K) and aspect ratio (auto, 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, 16:9).
Quality (GPT Image 2 only)
Low / Medium / High / Auto rendering quality.
Ratio / Duration / Size (video)
Aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1), clip length (3 to 15 seconds), and output resolution (1080p or 4K) for Kling models.
Generate Audio (video)
Has Kling also generate a synchronized audio track along with the video.
Use Viewer
Instead of generating from scratch, captures the current viewer frame (image) or the selected clip's segment (video, must be strictly between 3 and 10 seconds) and uses it as the base to edit.
Credit cost badge
Live estimate of how many AI credits this generation will consume, based on the model and parameters chosen.
Generate
Runs the generation in the background with the current prompt, references and parameters; you can keep working while it renders.
AI Editing
AI Editing (accordion)
Transforms the clip's existing image/video content instead of generating from nothing (e.g. restyling, inpainting, object changes).
IMAGES / VIDEOS tabs
Switches between image edit models and the Kling 3.0 Omni Edit/Reference video edit models.
Prompt
Describes the change to make, with the same #mention support as Generation.
Reference slots
4 generic slots for extra guidance images (0 for models that don't need any, like Grok Edit).
Clip Only
Restricts the edit to just this clip's own pixels, ignoring whatever else is composited behind/around it in the frame.
Edit clip
Runs the AI edit in the background with the current prompt, references and parameters.
Remove Background
Remove Background (accordion)
Cuts out the clip's subject from its background using an AI matting model.
IMAGES / VIDEOS tabs
Only shown for clips that have video content; images always use the image path.
Clip Only
Processes just this clip's own pixels rather than the whole composited frame.
Remove image/video BG
Runs background removal; video cost scales with the clip's duration (roughly 1 credit per second).
3D Generation
3D Generation (accordion)
Generates a textured 3D model from a reference image using an AI model.
Prompt
Describes the desired 3D style (e.g. material look, stylization).
Reference images
Up to 5 slots for clips without their own visual (empty AI clips); for any clip that already shows an image/video, the current viewer frame is captured automatically instead.
Quality
Low / Medium / High mesh and texture fidelity — higher quality takes longer and costs the same flat credit price.
Creative Mode
Lets the model interpret the reference more loosely/artistically instead of reproducing it literally.
HD Textures
Generates higher-resolution texture maps for the resulting model.
Flat Textures
Bakes flat, non-PBR textures instead of a full physically-based material set.
Generate 3D Model
Runs the 3D generation for a flat 50-credit cost.
Music
Music (accordion)
Generates an original music track for the clip using an AI audio model.
Music style
Describes the genre/instrumentation/mood (e.g. "Chicago blues, slow tempo, electric guitar"). Type [ to pick a genre from a suggestion list.
Lyrics
The song's lyrics. Type [ to insert structural tags like [Verse] or [Chorus].
Lyrics Optimizer
Lets the AI model refine/adapt your lyrics for better singability instead of using them verbatim.
Is Instrumental
Generates a purely instrumental track, ignoring the Lyrics field entirely.
Generate Audio
Runs the music generation for a flat 20-credit cost.
Speech
Speech (accordion)
Generates a spoken-voice track from a written dialogue using an AI text-to-speech model.
Dialogue
The script, one line per line (e.g. "Mary: Hello!"). Type [ to insert a speaker name you've already set below.
Style
Direction for the delivery (e.g. "Calm, warm, professional…").
Number of people
1 or 2 speakers; adds a matching number of voice rows below.
Voice rows (Name + Voice)
For each speaker: a display name (used to tag their lines in Dialogue) and a voice picked from grouped Male/Female voice lists.
Creativity
Draggable value from 0 to 2 controlling how much natural variation the voice takes on versus a flat, literal reading.
Generate Audio
Runs the speech generation; cost scales with the length of the dialogue text.
History & Library
Library (accordion)
Browses every past generation for this clip, split into Music / Speech / Images / Videos / 3D tabs.
Deselect
Clears the current selection in the history list.
Delete
Permanently deletes the selected generation results.
Set as Clip Media
Right-click a history item: makes this generated result the clip's active media without discarding the others.
Send to Media Pool
Right-click a history item: copies it into the Media Pool as its own independent clip.
Replace clip
Right-click a history item: swaps the clip's current media for this result.
Restore original
Right-click a history item: reverts the clip back to its original, pre-AI source media.
References & AI Elements
# mentions
Typing # or @ in any AI prompt opens a picker to insert a reference slot (#Image1, #SF, #EF) or an AI Element (#Element1) inline in the text, so the model knows exactly which image/character that part of the sentence refers to.
Create AI Element
Defines a reusable character/location/prop (name, up to 4 reference images, description, type) to keep the same subject consistent across multiple separate AI generations.
Clip Inspector — Light Properties
The single-panel Inspector shown for a Light clip in a 3D composition, above a shared Scene Hierarchy tree.
Scene Hierarchy
Hierarchy tree
Shared across every 3D clip type (lights, cameras, HDRI, models): lists every object in the active 3D composition, with an expandable "Scene Root" group. Right-click for Go to clip / Rename / Show-Hide (see Right-Click Menus).
Light Type
Type — Directional (Sun)
Parallel rays from an infinite distance, like sunlight; casts a uniform-direction shadow across the whole scene.
Type — Point (Bulb)
Radiates in all directions from a single point in space, like a bare light bulb.
Type — Spot
A directional cone of light from a point, like a flashlight or stage spotlight.
Type — Ambient (Global)
Uniform light with no direction or position, lifting the whole scene's shadows evenly.
Intensity & Color
Intensity
Brightness of the light. Animatable via the stopwatch, like every numeric field in this panel.
Color
The light's color, picked from a color swatch.
Transform (Position & Rotation)
Pos X / Y / Z
Places the light in 3D space. Hidden for Ambient lights, which have no position.
Rot X / Y / Z
Manually orients a Directional or Spot light. Hidden whenever Target Light (below) is active, since the target then controls the aim instead.
Target Light (LookAt)
Only for Directional/Spot lights: instead of a manual rotation, aims the light at a fixed 3D point.
Target X / Y / Z
The 3D point the light aims at, when Target Light is enabled.
Shadows
Cast shadows
Enables this light to cast shadows from objects in the scene. Hidden for Ambient lights.
Opacity
Darkness of the shadow, from fully transparent to fully opaque.
Soft Edges
Blurs/softens the edges of the shadow (shadow radius).
Blur Quality
Sample quality of the soft-edge blur. Hidden for Point and Ambient lights.
Map Size
Shadow map resolution: 512 (fastest), 1024 (fast), 2048 (HD, default), or 4096 (ultra) — higher looks sharper but renders slower.
Width (X) / Height (Y)
Only for Directional lights: the size of the shadow frustum, i.e. how much of the scene the shadow map covers.
Near Plan / Far Plan
Only for Directional lights: the near/far clipping distance of the shadow frustum.
Bias
Offsets the shadow depth comparison to fix shadow acne (self-shadowing artifacts).
Normal Bias
Offsets the shadow along the surface normal, another common fix for shadow acne and peter-panning artifacts.
Clip Inspector — HDRI Properties
The single-panel Inspector shown for an HDRI/environment clip in a 3D composition.
Lighting & Render
Intensity
Brightness of the environment lighting the HDRI contributes to the scene.
Blur
Blurs the HDRI image, softening reflections and the visible background.
Orientation
Angle (Y)
Rotates the HDRI around the vertical axis, to line up its horizon/lighting direction with the scene.
Display
Show background
Shows the HDRI itself as the visible background behind the scene; when off, the HDRI still lights/reflects the scene but stays invisible.
Clip Inspector — Camera Properties
The single-panel Inspector shown for a Camera clip in a 3D composition.
Position
Camera X / Y / Z
Places the camera in 3D space.
Orientation & Target
Pitch (X) / Yaw (Y) / Roll (Z)
Manually aims the camera. Hidden whenever Target Camera (below) is active.
Target Camera (LookAt)
Instead of manual rotation, points the camera at a fixed 3D coordinate — it keeps aiming there even as the camera itself moves or animates.
Target X / Y / Z
The 3D point the camera looks at, when Target Camera is enabled.
Optics / Lens
Aperture (FOV)
Field of view in degrees — lower is a tighter, more zoomed-in lens; higher is wider-angle.
Near Plan
The closest distance the camera renders; anything nearer is clipped.
Far Plan
The furthest distance the camera renders; anything beyond is clipped.
Clip Inspector — Model 3D Properties
The Properties tab for an imported 3D model (.glb/.gltf/.obj) clip, above the shared Scene Hierarchy tree.
Selection
Hierarchy tree
Lists every part/mesh of the imported model; click one to edit its own transform and material instead of the whole model's.
Multi-selection
Ctrl/Cmd-click or Shift-click several parts in the tree to transform them all together (their transforms are broadcast to the whole selection).
PROPERTIES / SHADERS tabs
Switches this panel between the Transform 3D controls below and the material/shader editor (see Model 3D Shaders).
Transform 3D
Position X / Y / Z (cm)
Moves the whole model, or just the selected part(s), in 3D space.
Rotation X / Y / Z (°)
Rotates the whole model, or just the selected part(s).
Scale X / Y / Z (%)
Resizes the whole model, or just the selected part(s), per axis.
Clip Inspector — Model 3D Shaders
The full PBR (physically-based) material editor for the currently selected part of a 3D model, organized into stacked accordion groups.
Material Selection
Material slot
Only shown when the selected part has more than one material slot: picks which material to edit.
Shared Material — Make Unique
Shown when this material is reused by several parts of the model: editing it here would change all of them at once. Click to detach a private copy for just this part.
Base / Albedo
Color
The material's base color, multiplied with the Albedo Map if one is set.
Albedo Map
A texture (drag from the Media Pool) providing the base color per pixel.
Opacity
Overall transparency of the material (requires Transparent to be enabled to have a visible effect).
Alpha Map
A texture whose brightness controls per-pixel transparency.
Alpha Test
Pixels with an alpha below this threshold are discarded entirely instead of blended — useful for cutout foliage/fences.
Faces
Which side of the geometry renders: front, back, or both (double-sided).
Transparent
Enables alpha blending for this material, required for Opacity/Alpha Map to have a visible effect.
Flat Shading
Renders each triangle as a flat facet instead of smoothly interpolating normals, for a low-poly/faceted look.
Wireframe
Renders only the triangle edges of the mesh.
Surface PBR
Roughness / Roughness Map
How microscopically rough the surface is: 0 is a mirror-like reflection, 1 is fully matte/diffuse.
Metal / Metalness Map
How metallic the surface behaves: 0 is a plain dielectric (plastic, wood…), 1 is a bare metal.
Specular
Intensity / Specular I. Map
Strength of the non-metallic specular reflection.
Color / Specular C. Map
Tints the specular reflection's color, for non-metallic surfaces.
Reflectiv
Base reflectivity (F0) of the dielectric surface at normal incidence.
Glass & Refraction
Transmis. / Transmission Map
How much light passes through the material instead of reflecting off it — 1 makes it see-through like glass.
IOR
Index of refraction: how much light bends passing through the material (1.5 ≈ glass).
Thickness / Thickness Map
Simulated material thickness, used to compute light absorption through transmissive surfaces.
Atten. Color
The color light takes on as it's absorbed passing through the material (e.g. tinted glass).
Atten. Dist.
Distance light travels through the material before reaching the full attenuation color.
Dispersion
Splits transmitted light by wavelength, like a prism — creates chromatic-aberration-style rainbow fringing in glass.
Clearcoat (Varnish)
Clearcoat / Clearcoat Map
Strength of a second, thin transparent coating over the base material — like car paint's lacquer layer.
Roughness / Clearcoat R. Map
Roughness of the clearcoat layer specifically, independent of the base surface's own roughness.
Normal / Clearcoat N. Map
A separate normal map for the clearcoat layer, for effects like orange-peel paint texture.
Relief (Normal / Bump / Displace)
Normal / Normal Map
Fakes fine surface detail (bumps, grooves) by perturbing lighting normals, without adding real geometry.
Bump / Bump Map
A simpler grayscale alternative to a normal map for faking surface relief.
Displace / D. Bias / Displace Map
Actually moves the mesh's vertices based on the map, creating real (not faked) geometric relief.
Anisotropy
Force
Strength of directional (anisotropic) highlights, like brushed metal or vinyl records.
Rotation
Rotates the direction of the anisotropic highlight streaks.

A texture controlling anisotropy strength/direction per pixel.
Sheen (Fabric)
Sheen
Strength of a soft, fabric-like retro-reflective sheen at grazing angles.
Color / Sheen Color Map
Tints the sheen effect's color.
Roughness / Sheen R. Map
Roughness of the sheen layer specifically, for cloth-like materials.
Iridescence
Iridesc. / Iridescence Map
Strength of a thin-film color-shifting effect, like soap bubbles or an oil slick.
IOR
Index of refraction of the thin iridescent film, affecting the resulting color shift.
Thick. / Iridescence T. Map
Thickness range of the thin film, which determines the specific colors produced.
Emission
Light
The color of light the material emits on its own, independent of scene lighting.
Intensity
Strength of the emissive glow.
Emissive Map
A texture controlling which parts of the surface glow, and with what color.
Occlusion / Lightmap
AO / AO Map
Ambient occlusion: darkens crevices and contact areas using a pre-baked map, for extra depth without real-time cost.
LightMap / Light Map
Applies a pre-baked lighting texture on top of the material, for baked global illumination.
Environment
Reflets
Intensity of environment reflections (from the scene's HDRI) on this material.
Shadow Catcher
Shadow catcher (invisible)
Makes this part of the model invisible except for the shadows cast onto it — useful for compositing a 3D object's shadow onto real footage.
Density
Opacity/strength of the caught shadow.

Selection rectangle
Drag on the viewport to box-select multiple tracker points at once.
3D Transport
Start / End
Jumps this clip's own playhead to the beginning or end, independently of the main timeline's transport.
Step back / forward one frame
Moves this clip's playhead by exactly one frame.
Play / Pause
Plays back just this clip inside the Track3D workspace.
Viewer zoom
Cycles the 3D viewport's zoom level (Fit / 100% / custom).
Zoom out / in / slider
Adjusts the horizontal zoom of this clip's own mini-timeline (no tracks, just a ruler and playhead for this clip's duration).
Fit timeline
Zooms the mini-timeline to fit the clip's whole duration in view.
Tracker Transport
Track Backward / Forward
Runs the selected tracker frame-by-frame backward or forward from the current frame, following its feature across the shot.
Track Previous / Next Image
Steps the tracker exactly one frame backward or forward.
Stop
Stops an in-progress tracking run.
Tracker status
A colored light indicating the selected tracker's health at the current frame (e.g. tracking normally vs. lost/low confidence).
Auto tracking direction
Sets whether the Backward/Forward transport buttons above (and "Auto" below) track toward the start or the end of the clip.
Lock tracker
Locks the selected tracker point so it can't be moved by accident while working on others nearby.

Pattern preview
Zoomed-in preview of the exact pixels the selected tracker is matching against, frame by frame — useful to spot drift early.
Clear Backward / Current / Forward
Deletes tracked data before, at, or after the current frame for the selected tracker, so you can re-track just that portion.
Add Tracker
Places a new tracking point on the viewport for you to track manually or with Auto.
Delete Selected
Removes the selected tracker point(s) entirely, along with all their tracked data.
Auto Tracking Settings
Show grid
Overlays a grid on the viewport to help place trackers evenly across the frame.
Max total
The maximum number of feature points Auto will place and track across the clip.
Pattern (px)
The size of the patch of pixels used to identify and follow each feature.
Search (px)
How far around its last known position the tracker searches for the feature in the next frame — larger for fast motion.
Edge margin (%)
Keeps automatically-placed trackers away from the edges of the frame, where features tend to leave the shot.
Auto
Automatically places and tracks feature points across the whole clip using the settings above.
Camera Solve
Conf. threshold
Minimum tracking confidence a track must reach to be trusted by the solver; noisier tracks below this are excluded.
Min length (fr)
Discards tracks shorter than this many frames, since very short tracks don't help the solve much and can add noise.
Fixed focal length
Assumes the camera's focal length stayed constant throughout the shot (no zooming), which makes the solve more stable.
Focal length (mm)
The real-world focal length of the camera that shot the footage, if known — improves solve accuracy.
Sensor preset
Picks the camera's sensor size (Full Frame, Super 35, APS-C, MFT, 1" Sony, or Custom) to correctly scale the solved 3D scene.
Sensor width (mm)
Manual sensor width in millimeters, used only when Sensor preset is set to Custom.
Preview rejected
Highlights on the viewport which tracks would be excluded by the current solve settings, before committing to a full solve.
Solve
Computes the 3D camera motion from the tracked points, so 3D objects can be composited that stick convincingly to the footage.
Progress
Cancel
Stops an in-progress automatic tracking pass before it finishes.
Export
The export window, opened from Render → Export or Ctrl+E.
Fast (Web) engine
Uses the active playback source; proxies allowed. Ideal for quick drafts.
File name / Range to export
Sets the output file name and whether to export the entire timeline or only the selected In/Out range.
Output format
MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP9), or a PNG/JPEG image sequence.
Resolution
Same as project, Full HD, or 4K UHD output resolution.
Target bitrate / mode
Sets the video bitrate (Mbps) and whether it's Variable (VBR) or Constant (CBR).
Hardware acceleration
Prefer GPU (fast), CPU (safe/compatible), or let the browser decide automatically.
Encoding priority
Quality (Studio) favors output quality; Speed (Real-Time) favors faster encoding.
Image format / quality
PNG (lossless) or JPEG (with a quality slider) when exporting an image sequence.
Audio codec / bitrate
AAC or Opus codec, with a selectable audio bitrate (128/192/256 kbps).
Start export
Begins rendering with the current settings; progress and a cancel button appear until it finishes.

Profile, credits and subscription management, from the avatar menu in the top-right corner.
Buy credits
Opens the credit pack store to top up AI generation credits.
View Profile
Shows your credit balance, usage history chart, and the account danger zone.

Memory tab — Absolute cap
Caps the scrub/playback cache to a fixed amount of RAM (GB).
Memory tab — % of total RAM
Caps the cache to a percentage of the machine's total installed RAM.
Memory tab — % of free RAM
Caps the cache to a percentage of currently free RAM.
Reset / Save (Memory)
Resets the memory settings to default, or saves the current caps. The effective budget is always the most restrictive of the caps above, minus a system reserve.
